The bulk of the third book of Moses, called Leviticus, uses all of its eighteen eight and a half by eleven inch pages of text demanding that sacrifices be offered to god. Cattle, sheep, goats, turtledoves, pigeons and fruit can be offered in tribute. Fruit must not be cooked.
These burnt offerings are to given whenever a sin is committed, either intentionally or in ignorance. It seems clear to me that god insists on sacrifices be offered to him.
Does anyone today offer sacrifices to god? If not, why do believers choose to not offer sacrifices?
